Updates to Inspection Field answers & Template answers in ACE Wizard for improved Suggested Recommendations

Adjustments to your Individual saved Inspection Field Templates may be required to maximise this new feature!!

As many of you are aware, we are planning on releasing an onsite ACE Wizard APP very shortly. As part of this work, you will have started to see some new features in ACE Wizard as we implement amendments based on the ACE APP field testing to help maximise the potential of the ACE APP as an on-site tool. This update also improves the 'Suggested Recommendations ACE Wizard produces for you whether you opt to record the sampling data in the ACE APP or the existing method within ACE Wizard

We have added the function to generate “Suggested Recommendations” by using the recommendations that are made in the “Inspection “Fields” area. The new additional Suggested Recommendations will be shown by ticking a box within the header of the “Suggested Recommendations” page. (see image below)

For assessors to maximise this functionality it is likely to require assessors to individually adjust the way their current “Inspection Field” templates are set up, by making sure that text only shows in the “Observation” column unless a generated “Suggested Recommendation” is required. This will help prevent excessive recommendations being generated and therefore make the new feature more useable.

Historically it has made no difference whether the Observation or the Recommendation has been used for the text, as the official report shown on the MHCLG portal amalgamates both boxes and ACE has also not differentiated between the boxes in anyway. However, going forward, “Suggested Recommendations” will be generated whenever there is text in the “Recommendation” column of the “Inspection Fields”. Such as shown in the image below. There will be no “Suggested Recommendations” generated if the “Inspection Field” text is within the first column only, the “Observation” column.
